Did ya’ll know that Google Reader is going extinct on Monday?! My favorite thing to do in the morning, with coffee to my left and breakfast to my right… IS GONE. Isn’t that super sad?! I’ve used Reader to follow hundreds of blogs over the last 7ish years since I’ve discovered the blog world. Okay, maybe not hundreds, but it’s close…
So WAIT! How in the world will we all follow our favorite blogs now? That’s where Bloglovin’ comes in! I’d heard of it a while ago, but never needed it. But back in April, when Reader announced it was going away, I signed up for Bloglovin’ pretty quick because I wanted time to get used to this new system. And it hasn’t let me down!
They have a pretty dashboard/homepage, where you immediately see which of your faves have new content posted. When you click the title, it actually takes you through to the real, pretty blog, unlike Reader which just made you read everything in the same window. There’s also an option to “favorite” posts so you can read them again in the future. I think it’s really great!
Signing up for a Bloglovin’ account is super easy and they also explain how to transfer over all of your Reader blogs! If you’re an avid blog stalker reader I would suggest signing up ASAP so you don’t lose any of your favorites! And while you’re at it, you can follow SRP right here (yeah I only have one follower and it’s ME, so don’t judge. =) )
