This book. OH THIS BOOK. I feel like I talk about it every day.
I picked this book up on a whim at the library one night, because it had a big seven on the cover and seven was my lucky number when I was a kid. (honestly, that is the only reason I even looked at it) Then I read the summary on the back, and thought “Wait, this might actually be good.”
MIGHT ACTUALLY BE GOOD?!?!
This book is so much more than good. The way author Jen Hatmaker writes is easy to follow along with, it’s like you’re chatting over coffee together. Her raw honestly throughout this experiment is refreshing.. she doesn’t “pretty it up”. You get to see into her world as a pastor’s wife and all the joy and struggle that comes along with it. It’s challenging, it makes you want to be a better person! And her humor is the best!
I went from randomly picking it up at the library, to it radically changing the way I think about every day things. And I say randomly, but let’s be honest, God KNEW. He knew it would speak to many areas of my life. And He knew that three weeks before Christmas, when the world was frantically focused on how much stuff they could buy their friends, that this book would make a big impact on me. If you’re in the Hart/Krist families, you know that instead of giving physical Christmas gifts this year, we opted to sponsor a little boy named Erick in El Salvador through Compassion International. Why? You guessed it! This book! This book was also the reason why one of my goals this year is to give away 20 items in our house per month. This book is also why I… could go on and on for days.
I could do a full review of the book, but I really just want you ALL to read it and experience it for yourselves. And one of you will be able to! I’m giving away a copy of it from now until the 16th. There are many ways to enter, and you can do some ways more than once a day. If this book has been on your to-read list, or if you’re just hearing about it for the first time today, go for it! Winner will be announced on my Facebook and Instagram pages on Monday morning, so be sure you follow along!
To win, you must be able to provide your US mailing address. Also, this isn’t sponsored. I just bought an extra copy for the purpose of giving it away!
